Every teenager (and adult, for that matter) dreads hearing that they need braces. The word "braces" conjures images of highly visible, unattractive pieces of metal on the teeth. However, nowadays there are options to straighten your teeth that don't require metal braces. ClearCorrect is a virtually invisible way of correcting the alignment of your teeth.
If you're interested in learning more about ClearCorrect and whether you're a good candidate, give Nevada Dental Esthetics a call at702-737-3553 to schedule your consultation. We welcome patients from the Summerlin and Spring Valley areas of Nevada.
What is ClearCorrect?
Similar to Invisalign, ClearCorrect is a series of transparent aligners designed as a discreet alternative to traditional braces. ClearCorrect is a great option if your teeth:
- Are crooked
- Are crowded
- Are spaced too far apart
- Have an overbite or underbite
ClearCorrect aligners are made of a sturdy, transparent material. Most people won't even notice that you're wearing them unless you point it out. They're also easily removable for eating, brushing, and flossing.
ClearCorrect may not be the right choice for everyone, but we do offer alternatives, such as Six Month Smiles. Dr. Paez will let you know if you're a good candidate during your consultation.
How Does ClearCorrect Work?
ClearCorrect aligners are made custom for your mouth using a 3D model of your teeth, which is generated from information we send to the ClearCorrect lab. We'll take photos, impressions, and X-rays so that the model is as accurate as possible. A complete treatment plan will be mapped out, and you'll be able to see exactly how many aligners you'll need and approximately how long it will take to complete your treatment.
Most people will need to wear their ClearCorrect aligners for one to two years, after which we'll provide you with a retainer to maintain your new smile.
What Are The Advantages of ClearCorrect?
ClearCorrect has many advantages over traditional metal braces, including:
- More comfortable
- Virtually invisible when wearing
- Easier to eat, brush, and floss
- Food does not get stuck inside like with traditional braces
- Easier to maintain good oral hygiene
Traditional braces cannot be removed until the full treatment is complete, and they may interfere with everyday activities such as eating, drinking, and speaking. In addition, it can be difficult to maintain a good level of oral hygiene since braces cannot be removed for brushing and flossing. Plus, a dentist will need to adjust your braces periodically, which can be uncomfortable. With ClearCorrect, all you need to do is change aligners after the allotted amount of time.
What's the Difference Between ClearCorrect and Invisalign?
Invisalign has been around longer, which gives it stronger brand recognition. However, ClearCorrect and Invisalign are virtually the same thing, and are equally effective. One of the main differences between ClearCorrect and Invisalign are that ClearCorrect is manufactured here in America (in Texas to be exact), while Invisalign is manufactured at different locations around the globe.
The other main difference is that ClearCorrect tends to be more affordable, with reduced lab fees and costs, so dentists are able to pass the savings along to you. Ultimately, however, whether a dentist chooses to use Invisalign or ClearCorrect is a matter of preference, and you can rest assured that with ClearCorrect you are receiving a proven, effective, and safe orthodontic treatment.
